Nicki Minaj has established herself as one of the most influential artists of our generation. So it’s no wonder Young Thug took to social media to give Minaj her much-deserved flowers.
“Nicki Minaj definitely top 5 female artists of all time,” Thug said on his Instagram Stories Thursday. “She definitely in the top 5. For me, though. Just for me. I think for the majority of people in the world, she definitely in the top 5 [too].”
Thug and Minaj haven’t often connected on the same track, but the rare occasion they did was special. It was on their track “Anybody” off of Thug’s 2018 EP Hear No Evil. The song was interesting because it featured Minaj tapping into some of Thug’s syrupy cadences and slimy adlibs so that both of their sounds could mesh well together.
And speaking of Thugger and those notorious adlibs, they will both be making an appearance on fellow YSL labelmate Gunna’s upcoming album, Drip Season 4, due out at midnight. Gunna shared a snippet for the song “Pushin P” that features Thug and Future earlier this week.
DS4 is also set to feature Drake, Future, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Kodak Black, Chlöe, G Herbo, Yung Bleu, Chris Brown, Roddy Ricch, and more.
