Twitter was in a frenzy after rumors swirled about a sex tape starring Jill Scott. However, it seems no such thing exists, and the singer wants fans to have this much enthusiasm when she actually does release new work.

“Say word!?!” the singer wrote on Twitter, alongside a GIF of her bowing in front of an audience. “I expect this energy when my new movies, albums and tv show drop. Ya’ll too much. #headedbacktowork #hydrate.”

The Twitterverse soon figured out the sex tape wasn’t real and that no one had even laid eyes on the footage.

In 2018 a clip of Scott performing the song “Crown Royal” from her ’07 album The Real Thing: Words & Sounds Vol. 3 resurfaced online, with one user showing exactly how thirsty some of her fans are by saying she was “sucking air dick.”

Scott saw the viral tweet and responded, “I sing/act out all kinds of stories. You should cum to my shows. After a Jill Scott show, most people get splendidly laid by whoever they came with #iftheydontFitup #stopfrontinusuckdicktoo.” She continued, “They also usually go on 2happier, more productive, focused, wealthy lives.”
