Here’s the Foreword Drake Wrote for J. Prince’s Upcoming Memoir

Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince's memoir 'The Art & Science of Respect' has a foreword written by Drake—and there's audio, too.

J. Prince is set to release his memoir The Art & Science of Respect: A Memoir by James Prince on June 22, and the Rap-A-Lot Records CEO can boast a foreword written by Drake.

In the full text, initially shared by XXL, Drake reminisces about meeting J. Prince’s son, Jas Prince, and shares what J. has taught him. “Through our ears, he reinforced the importance of being self-contained, how to build a team, and how to respect and value their unconditional support to the movement that you're creating,” Drake writes.

J. Prince posted the audio clip to Instagram on June 1, and a photo from when he and Drake met for the first time. “You can tell a good tree by the fruit it bears. That’s why I’m proud to be Pops to both of these young men @champagnepapi and @jas.prince,” J. Prince wrote in the caption.

J. Prince’s memoir also includes quotes from Jay-Z and Bun B, who both applaud J. “When you do business with [J. Prince], you're held at your word,” Hov said, per XXL. “You know if he tells you something, he's gonna do it, which is refreshing.”

I honestly don't remember meeting James Prince. It was years ago and a lot of life has happened since then. What I do remember is like scenes from a movie, being in Houston, on our way to a nightclub escorted by a motorcade; seas parting everywhere we went. Waves, handshakes—all blatant signs of respect and admiration and maybe even fear to be honest.
