French Montana on Drake's Yeezy Shot Toward Kanye on "No Stylist": 'Brothers Always Fight'

French spoke about the jab in the latest episode of 'Sneaker Shopping.'

It's no secret that French Montana's "No Stylist" record caused a decent amount of drama. Produced by London on da Track, the 2018 single played a role in reigniting the feud between Drake and Kanye West, as the former contributed a guest verse that included a dig at 'Ye's Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers.

"Keepin it G, I told her don't wear no 350s 'round me," Drizzy rapped. Months after the record dropped, Kanye went on an accusatory Twitter rant in which he demanded Drake to apologize.

It was a messy situation that included accusations of lies and threats. But French insists he never took the drama too seriously.

"Brothers always fight, and I feel like that's what they was going through at the moment," French told Joe La Puma during the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping. "They live next door to each other. I just felt like they was brothers and they was fighting. I fight with my brothers all the time."

French, who is expected to release his third studio album this month, also spoke about the sample pair of Yeezy 350s Kanye had given him in 2016, during the shoot of their "Figure It Out" video with Nas.

"I actually went into his trailer, and he had a bunch of joints, and I was just like, 'Can I have these?' [They] were just white, they went with my outfit," French recalled. "I just grabbed them, and he gave them to me."

The Coke Boys rapper went on to say he had received large payment offers for the kicks, but he refused to part ways with them.

"Somebody offered $25,000, someone offered me $50,000, but I’m not going to [sell them]," he said, before emphasizing their sentimental value. "It was a special moment. I remember Nas, when we was shooting the video, Nas was just like, 'Damn, you really got me and Kanye here to do a video for you, three hours out of L.A.' That was a special moment, so when Kanye gave me them sneakers, it kind of represented that time. As soon as I was about to frame them, they got stolen when I went on tour."

He added: "Anybody see the white Yeezys—there's only one—make sure you get into contact."
