In a post shared on Instagram, Trippie Redd publicly admitted to cheating on his girlfriend Skye Morales.
"Just wanted to publicly apologize to Skye do not be mad at her I cheated she not have had the best attitude with me but she was the most loyal partner I ever had and I lost her," he shared. "I just want u guys to be better than me 💯 so if u find someone that makes u feel special think before u do wen ur mad I will never forgive myself for this shit ever 💔"
After cautioning his fans to do better than him, he criticized himself and said that he doesn't expect forgiveness. "I’m sorry Skye I don’t even want u to forgive me I just want u to know I understand I feel it I’m a fucking idiot I promise u nun of it was worth wat I had wats done in the dark always comes to light and yea I hate myself fuck all the people that have been waiting for this to happen I hate u 💯not as much as I hate myself tho," he wrote.
Morales appeared to address the post in an indirect repost of a quote on her Instagram Stories. "Never regret the love you gave anyone, even if it wasn't reciprocated, love always comes back full circle, that love will come back in some shape or form," the quote reads. "Keep putting love out into the universe, cause it's coming back with interest."
Redd and Morales have been in a relationship since 2021, although it would appear as though the cheating has potentially led to their separation, as hinted by Redd's post.
His admission comes ahead of the release of his new project, A Love Letter to You 5. It boasts guest appearances from Morales (which could be awkward now), Roddy Ricch, the Kid Laroi, Bryson Tiller, Lil Wayne, and Corbin. It's currently scheduled to drop on Friday, August 11, although it's unclear if it will be postponed amid personal drama. It was already pushed back a week due to sample clearance issues, however.
A Love Letter to You 5 is Redd's second release of the year following Mansion Musik, which debuted at the No. 3 spot on the Billboard 200 chart in January. The album was a star-studded affair with appearances from Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Lil Durk, Future, Lil B, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Kodak Black.
