Quavo has been teasing a solo project for what feels like forever, but now the Migos member has officially announced that his debut solo album is finally on the way. After dropping a number of singles, Quavo promised on Instagram that his album, Quavo Huncho, would be dropping very soon. So soon, in fact, that it'll be coming out this month.
Of all the members of Migos, Quavo is the member that listeners have been most eagerly awaiting a solo project from. There's not too much information to go on just yet, but it looks as though he's gearing up for a surprise attack of sorts. Here's everything we know about the long-awaited solo album from Quavo so far.
Release Date
As previously mentioned, Quavo confirmed on his Instagram that Huncho will be dropping this month.
There's no word on when we can expect it specifically, but there's every chance the rapper could surprise us all and drop it as soon as Friday (Sept. 7) or as late as Sept. 28.
Features
Quavo has kept his lips tight regarding who we can expect to see on Huncho, but as he's currently on tour with Drake, there's definitely a chance the 6 God could pop up. He was also recently spotted in the studio with Nicki Minaj earlier this year, and the pair appeared on Ella Mai's "Boo'd Up" remix. It's very likely they worked on more music together.
Other likely guests include the rest of Migos and anyone else currently on Quality Control, including Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and Stefflon Don among others. And of course, his Huncho Jack, Jack Hunchocollaborator Travis Scott.
Quavo could always take a different approach to the record, choosing to make it an entirely solo affair to truly flaunt what he's capable of as a solo artist. That seems unlikely, though, as Rich The Kid has already commented on the post confirming he has a feature.
Producers
As far as producers go, it's already known that Murda Beatz, Buddah Bless, and Smash Bros. will be the record if "Lamb Talk," "Workin Me," and "Bubblegum" turn up on the final product. Aside from that, however, there's been little indication of who the rapper has been working with. It is highly likely a number of Migos' frequent collaborators, including Metro Boomin and Cardo among others, will turn up, however.
Expectations
When asked about the forthcoming record before its announcement, Quavo said, "It's an alley-oop for the biggest slam dunk in the game." It's safe to say that he's eager to get fans excited about the record, especially considering how he's already released videos for two of the three singles he's shared in anticipation for the album.
He said it's definitely not an indication that he'll be leaving Migos or anything, but it will be a showcase of what he's capable of removed from Takeoff and Offset. "It's going places and coming back with the trophy so we can celebrate," he previously teased. "Something crazy is on the way, something real special on the way from your boy Huncho. [...] It's for the culture. Always for the culture."
