It’s been quite some time since Q-Tip released a new episode of the Beats 1 show Abstract Radio, and on Thursday he announced it’s returning.

In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe on Thursday, Q-Tip announced that Abstract Radio will kick off its second season tomorrow. The first episode will air April 2 at 9 p.m. ET and promises music both classic and modern, with little regard for genre classification.

"The Abstract Radio crew, we bringing y'all the Natives Are Restless,” he told Zane Lowe. “This is the theme. We are going to begin down doing our thing, all things native. When I say native, I mean native tongues. And all things that grow from that. We're talking about Tribe, De La, D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Kendrick, Kanye, Cole. Any more C's or K's I could think of. We're thinking H.E.R., we're thinking about Lauryn. You know what I'm saying?”

He, of course, didn’t stop there. “We're doing OutKast. You know what I'm saying? We are doing all the things, Pharrell, we doing everything, Tyler, the Creator, everything that comes from the native arm,” he continued. “You know what I'm saying? We doing that. You better ring the alarm, boy. Abstract Radio is back! We still doing it. And we still trying to make radio interesting. We try and do it innovative. We're trying to give it something a little light, give it something good and fun.”

Q-Tip launched Abstract Radio all the way back in 2015, with new episodes trickling out up until 2018. The legendary Tribe Called Quest producer and rapper has been keeping busy with plenty of other projects in the meantime, appearing on recent tracks alongside Busta Rhymes and Eminem, as well as executive producing Danny Brown’s critically acclaimed 2019 effort U Know What I’m Sayin?
