6ix9Ine's Family Reportedly Won't Show in Court Due to Safety Concerns

As the remaining two defendants in the 6ix9ine racketeering case gear up for their days in court, the controversial rapper's family has decided to skip out on the trial. As TMZ reports, 6ix9ine will testify in front of the majority of those involved in the case next week, but his family won't be in attendance due to safety concerns.

The "Gummo" rapper previously expressed that he had feared for the safety of his family in the kidnapping trial, and he reportedly went through the effort of hiring extra security to protect them. Prosecutors have already detailed what 6ix9ine is expected to say during his testimony, and he's going to cooperate with authorities. He already admitted to years of domestic violence as part of his cooperation agreement.

As he's played along with authorities so far, 6ix9ine will assumedly implicate Anthony "Harv" Ellison and Aljermiah "Nuke" Mack when he takes the stand next week. He's expected to name those involved with the case and the other Nine Trey Bloods members who were involved in the plot to hurt or possibly kill Casanova. As a result, his immediate family will not be in court when he does so, fearing retaliation from gang members for his cooperation with the feds.

As TMZ added, his family is specifically worried about Nine Trey Bloods members. When 6ix9ine implicates members of the gang in court, his family expects that they will receive harassment or even violence as a result of his actions. In exchange for the information he will provide police with, 6ix9ine is expected to receive a reduced sentence. His sentencing date was initially set for January 24, 2020, although that's currently a placeholder until it's determined when the whole case will end.
