Tackling the iconic J-Swift-produced beat, the Dope Don’t Sell Itself rapper effortlessly adapted to the track for his latest L.A. Leakers freestyle. “Thank you NFL I really appreciate the bag/Son of a gun, I really appreciate my dad,” he raps in the brief, but perfectly delivered freestyle. “Album on the way, I did it for the leakers.” The last time 2 Chainz took on a track for the Leakers was back in 2017, when he rapped over Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA.”
2 Chainz is currently gearing up to drop his seventh studio album, Dope Don’t Sell Itself. Due to arrive on Friday, the rapper detailed the tracklist for the project last week. Among the expected guests on the project, which runs a comparatively lean 12 tracks, is Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, 42 Dugg, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Lil Durk, and Swae Lee.
He also recently indicated that him and Lil Wayne have been hard at work on another collaborative album, following their 2016 joint effort, ColleGrove. “We were in the studio together,” the rapper explained to DJ Akademiks on his Off the Record podcast. “I think the last time we were in the studio together maybe twice. This time, we’ve been in the studio together multiple times working on this project. Whether going back in after we’ve done something or whatever.”
Watch 2 Chainz deliver his freestyle above and stay tuned for Dope Don’t Sell Itself.
