Over the weekend, it was reported that Tory Lanez was arrested and Megan Thee Stallion was present in the car at the time of the Hollywood Hills incident.

Now the Houston rapper has released a statement revealing that she suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital.

"The narrative that is being reported about Sunday's morning events are inaccurate and I'd like to set the record straight," she wrote in a note shared on Instagram. "On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me. I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets."

Early reports of the incident indicated that "everyone in the vehicle" was detained by police. The car the two artists were in was pulled over, and police arrested Lanez and charged him with carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be alive and that I'm expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night," she continued. "I'm currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible." In the caption for the note, she added, "This whole experience was an eye opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy."

The incident reportedly began in the early hours of Sunday (July 12), with an argument erupting between people in an SUV. Police obtained a description of the vehicle, and later found it with Tory and Megan inside. Four shell casings were found by authorities near the home where the altercation took place. Lanez was released on Sunday on $35,000 bond. He is currently scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 13.

In a statement provided to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department indicated that Megan didn't reveal she was a victim of a crime at the time of Tory Lanez's arrest. "At the time Megan Thee [Stallion] was with police she did not report that she was a victim of any crime," a spokesperson said. "And the LAPD has not received any additional information at this time."

Tory Lanez has yet to release a statement on his arrest, but due to his upcoming court date he could be legally prohibited from doing so.

Megan Thee Stallion's touring DJ, LilJuMadeDaBeat, tweeted "count your fucking days" at Tory Lanez on Wednesday. The tweet has since been removed for violating Twitter's terms of service.

Mes's close friend Kelsey Nicole also shared a statement on the situation on Instagram, although her post was swiftly removed as well.

"I want to clear up the rumors that I shot Megan," Nicole wrote. "I WASN'T the one with the gun and would never do something like that. However I was present."
