Fans are reeling after Justin Timberlake commented on a video that Britney Spears posted, where she dances to his song “Filthy.”

In the clip, Spears, wearing a white cropped top and white shorts, twirls to Timberlake’s song on a balcony. “This is my version of Snapchat or TikTok or whatever the cool thing you're supposed to do these days,” she writes. “As you can see I’m not really dancing folks ... I’m just very bored.”

She also references her breakup with Timberlake and praises his music. “PS I know we had one of the world's biggest breakups 20 years ago …… but hey the man is a genius !!!! Great song JT!!!!”

Timberlake responded with the laughing crying emoji and a few raised hands emojis.

Spears also shared a second video of her dancing to the song, writing, “14 turns wheeeeee.”

The two singers split in 2002 after dating for three years. Their breakup drew more attention when Timberlake released his hit song, “Cry Me a River,” which was allegedly about her being unfaithful to him.

In his book Hindsight: & All the Things I Can’t See in Front of Me, Timberlake revealed that the song took him two hours to write. “I’ve been scorned. I’ve been pissed off,” he explains in the book. “I wrote ‘Cry Me a River’ in two hours. I didn’t plan on writing it.”
