Future's oldest son, Jakobi Wilburn, was arrested on charges of criminal gang activity, criminal trespass, and altered ID of a firearm. The arrest took place last month during a gang bust in Georgia, TMZ reports. When authorities took Wilburn in, he was allegedly in possession of a gun that had its serial number scratched out.

The 17-year-old Jakobi reportedly listed himself as indigent in court documents, requesting a public defender, but his mother Jessica Smith and Future have stepped in to help. Since 17-year-olds are tried as adults in Georgia, there's the possibility Wilburn could face some time behind bars. As a result Future is reportedly aiming to hire the best lawyers possible, and will be covering all the legal fees that come with that.

"Our son is a minor and to protect his well being in this trying situation, we ask that everyone please respect our privacy at this time," Smith told TMZ.

A court date for his trial has not yet been set. Jakobi is one of the 36-year-old rapper's six children with six different women.

In 2013, Jakobi's mother filed a lawsuit against Future when she accused him of lying about his income in order to pay less child support. She later took him to court in 2016 for neglecting their son, once again asking for an increase in child support.
