Birmingham rap star Mist—real name Rhys Thomas Sylvester—has been rushed to hospital, reports say, after being shot in the leg during an armed robbery. He had been on holiday in Portugal at the time, staying at the upmarket Quinta do Lago resort.

The robbery happened around 10pm local time on Tuesday, August 27, when he was approached by two or three men with Irish accents. The robbers are said to have taken jewellery, phones, his passport and other valuables. Reports also say that armed officers from both the GNR (National Republican Guard) and PJ (Polícia Judiciária) arrived at the villa to make sure all the suspects had left.

Mist was then quickly rushed to hospital by friends where he's said to be recovering well, although no updates have been issued since then and there have reportedly been no arrests yet.

The rapper's latest single, "So High" featuring Fredo, recently hit the Top 10 UK singles chart at No. 7. The Complex team wishes Mist a speedy recovery.
