Cyrus took to Twitter on Tuesday in response to the incident, and reiterate that regardless of what a woman is wearing or what her relationship status is, no one has the right to touch her without consent. "She can be wearing what she wants. She can be a virgin. She can be sleeping with 5 different people. She can be with her husband. She can be with her girlfriend. She can be naked," the singer wrote. "She CAN’T be grabbed without her consent."

On Sunday, fans gathered around the entrance to a Barcelona hotel to catch a glimpse of Miley Cyrus and her husband actor Liam Hemsworth. In a clip posted on Twitter, Hemsworth is walking ahead of Cyrus when a man's hand is seen touching Miley's hair and body. His arm then reaches around Cyrus' neck to pull her closer in an attempt to kiss her. Cyrus immediately pushes the man away.

Cyrus was a victim of another intrusion in February 2018. The LAPD arrested a man who traveled from Milwaukee to Los Angeles to get to Cyrus. Leading up to his arrest, the man made several Facebook posts in which he claimed to know where the singer lived. While his true intentions are unknown, the man said he had to complete a "most horrific act" that will be "sad" and result in him being "on the news."

Cyrus was in Barcelona to celebrate the release of her new EP, She Is Coming, and perform at the Primavera Sound Festival.
