Miley Cyrus has launched a new sonic chapter, this time in the form of a subtle 666-nodding trilogy of EPs.
She Is Coming, part of the consecutively released She Is: Miley Cyrus trilogy, notably sees the upcoming Black Mirror star mention Cardi B and Nicki Minaj on "Cattitude"Â and reunite with her Bangerz collaborator Mike Will Made-It on "Party Up the Street." The latter includes yet another well-executed top-tier hook from Swae Lee, who's fresh off an underrated Madonna collab.
She Is Coming marks the first of three six-trackers from Cyrus, who will release She Is Here and She Is Everything in the coming months. Stream She Is Coming, also featuring Ghostface Killah and RuPaul, below via Apple Music.
The She Is trilogy launches less than two years after Younger Now, a largely throwback-influenced collection anchored by lead single "Malibu." While that 2017 entry saw Cyrus and company exploring a noticeably more subdued production style, an approach that divided critics, it's worth mentioning that it was preceded by the far more experimental Dead Petz project and the "Wrecking Ball"-boasting Bangerz. With She Is Coming, Cyrus touches on all these eras, with a specific emphasis on the generally more energetic compositions that defined the Bangerz years.
Next month, Cyrus will star in a presumably great Black Mirror episode titled "Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too." Per Cyrus, we should expect something "outrageously out there and dark" centered on women's experiences in the music industry.
