Funkmaster Flex is having fun joking about Cardi B, but when is it too much?

The Hot 97 DJ and radio host shared some guidelines on how to avoid being finessed by someone. Using the same imagery as Colin Kaepernick’s “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything” Nike ad, he used an image of Cardi B with: “Tomorrow isn’t promised. Rob him today.”

Flex’s caption included a set of rules:

  • STAY WOKE: Fellas, don’t drink, eat or get high around them
  • Stash valuables
  • $100 decoy money in pocket
  • They crib (never) Hotel always!
  • 2 hours max!

Earlier this week, Flex had more memes for Cardi, which were a variation of warnings for men who might get involved with suspicious women.

After #SurvivingCardiB started trending on Twitter, Cardi B addressed her past comments. She admitted that the footage was from three years ago, and she’s been trying to better herself.

“So I'm seeing on social media that a Live I did three years ago has popped back up,” she wrote. “A Live where I talked about things I had to do in my past right or wrong that I felt I needed to do to make a living. I never claim to be perfect or come from a perfect world wit a perfect past I always speak my truth I always own my shit. I’m apart of a hip-hop culture where you can talk about where you come from talk about the wrong things you had to do to get where you are.”

She added that she never wanted to rap about that part of her life in her music. “I made the choices that I did at the time because I had very limited options. I was blessed to have been able to rise from that but so many women have not. Whether or not they were poor choices at the time I did what I had to do to survive.”
