Rihanna should be busy celebrating her latest Fenty Beauty release and finally finishing her dang album, but the singer is now getting caught up in a legal battle with her own flesh and blood.

According to TMZ, Robyn is taking her father to court for trying to launch a business endeavor using the Fenty name. If you didn’t know, Rihanna’s last name is Fenty, thanks to her father Ronald Fenty. However, the patriarch has attempted to launch multiple businesses using the name, including a talent development company in 2017 called Fenty Entertainment, which is a huge no-no because Rihanna has “Fenty” trademarked.

In paperwork filed by Rihanna and her team, the singer claims her father is using her reputation from Fenty Beauty and other business ventures to try and turn a profit. TMZ reports that “her father and a business partner falsely advertised themselves as her reps to solicit millions of dollars,” which included trying to book Rihanna 15 shows in Latin America for $15 million without her consent. Her dad also attempted to file a trademark for “Fenty” to use with “resort boutique hotels.”

The singer has sent multiple cease and desist letters to her dad, “ordering him to stop capitalizing off of her Fenty trademarks,” but he continues to try to make money off of her name. She’s asked the judge to halt her father’s use of "Fenty," and is suing for damages.
