Jhené Aiko new track

Jhené Aiko hasn’t released a ton of music in 2018, save for a collaboration and remix here and there. However, on Monday, the singer returned with a new song, “Wasted Love Freestyle,” perhaps signaling a breakup.

She initially shared the song on Twitter, alongside the caption, “tis the season,” followed by broken heart and vomiting emojis. Over a stripped-down beat, she sings “You became my life, I never realized,” and, “You were my life. Without you by my side that just don’t feel right.”

The song follows news of Aiko covering up her Big Sean tattoo last month, with a large tattoo of a dragon with a phoenix wing. The move triggered new rumors that the couple were on the outs. After shutting down breakup rumors earlier this year, Aiko went on Twitter to once again let everyone know that she and Sean are doing just fine. “i covered ALL my tats w/ a big ass Dragon w/ a Phoenix wing breathing life and light into a new galaxy. NEW ART! NO BEEF! ALL LOVE!” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet. Her new song, however, muddies things a bit.
