It's been five years since The 1975 released their massive self-titled debut album, and the band sure has come a long way since then. Their latest effort, A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, marks a huge leap in both sound and style, and captures what it feels like to exist in 2018.

A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships has already received overwhelmingly positive reviews, achieving an impressive 93 on Metacritic. The album features the anthemic "Love It If We Made It," which sees frontman Matt Healy quoting Donald Trump with, "I moved on her like a bitch," and the now meme-worthy, "Thank you Kanye, very cool!" The song also features a tribute to the late Lil Peep, who died from an accidental drug overdose last November.

Besides "Love It If We Made It," the record also includes the singles "Give Yourself a Try" and "It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)." The sprawling album was entirely written and performed by the band, except for the single "TooTimeTooTimeTooTime," on which P&P favorite No Rome served as a writer. The 1975 is expected to follow-up the record in May next year with their next full-length, Notes on a Conditional Form.
