Before JAMESDAVIS drop their forthcoming EP Lamplighter Vol. 1 via Motown Records, the Los Angeles-based band—consisting of fraternal twins Jess and Rey, and their younger brother, Auston—have released the single “Speedboat.”
The three singers trade verses over a slow-burning, ethereal beat. Their slated project is the follow-up to their 2015 self-titled debut EP, which was recorded in Auston’s bedroom.
Employing a mix of rock, pop, and R&B, band has described their debut as “an intimate collection that yearns for a connection with others, fitting for a group who describe themselves as out-going introverts.” Lamplighter—which is named after the apartment where they first became a band—is sure to deliver a similar blend of genre.
