Chris Brown Samples Michael Jackson in New Song "Had To Do It… Sorry DJ Khaled"

Following a feature on Fat Joe and Dre’s song “Family Ties,” Chris Brown has released the track “Had To Do It… Sorry DJ Khaled.” The nod to Khaled is fairly unclear, though it seems like it could be a collaborative record that Brown elected to leak himself.

Following a feature on Fat Joe and Dre’s song “Family Ties,”Chris Brown has released the track “Had To Do It… Sorry DJ Khaled.”

Indeed, the nod to Khaled is fairly unclear, though it seems like it could be a collaborative record that Brown elected to leak himself. While Brown doesn’t clarify the Khaled apology in the song—except for using his catch phrases, “we the best music” and “another one”—Brown does flip Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You,” re-imagining the line “I wanna rock with you” as “I wanna wake up naked next to you.”

Brown has been in and out of the news last month. In early July, the singer was arrested after a performance at in West Palm Beach, Florida, for a felony battery charge. According to the Associated Press, there were "no details" about the assault allegations available, but a separate report from Billboard tied the arrest to Brown's alleged "sucker-punching" of a photographer in Tampa last April.

More recently, Brown helped a young fan who fainted at a show. Brown invited the boy to help him out with his 2014 hit "Loyal," when the boy became starstruck and fainted right in the middle of the stage.
