Earlier this week, we rounded up what we thought Drakewould address on his fifth studio album, Scorpion. And while he spent many lines talking about his son and the situation with his son's mother, we weren't necessarily expecting him to discuss his Cash Money deal, which he signed back in 2009. On the last track on the A side, "Is There More," Drake appears to make things crystal clear.

The status of Drake's label situation has been a constant conversation. Back in 2016, Ebro tweeted that Drake's Cash Money deal would be over after More Life dropped. That didn't appear to happen, but Drake's stood in support of Lil Wayne throughout Wayne's Cash Money woes. "We are fighting until you get yours" is how Drake spoke on the situation back when Wayne said "fuck Cash Money" during Drake's Summer Sixteen Tour.
In 2015, Birdman told Angie Martinez that Drake and Nicki Minaj wouldn't be going anywhere, even if Lil Wayne got off Cash Money. That same year, there was confusion over whether If You're Reading This It's Too Late would even count towards his Cash Money deal (spoiler alert: it did). Two years later, on their "Family Feud Freestyle," Drake made a point to once again speak about Wayne's label situation.

Earlier this month, Lil Wayne not only got a cash settlement in his Birdman situation, but he's also in a position to drop the long-awaited Carter Vsometime soon.
If Drake truly is gone, he has options. He has a partnership with Apple that could allow him to essentially drop music whenever he damn well pleases. If not, it shouldn't be hard for him to drop music via the Warner Bros.-distributed OVO Sound imprint. Either way, if Drake's "Is There More" lines are facts, it sounds like this next chapter of his could be very interesting.
