Mystikal, who is currently facing charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping stemming from a 2016 incident, pleaded not guilty on Monday.

The rapper is accused of assaulting a woman after an October concert at a Shreveport, Louisiana casino. Mystikal turned himself in Aug. 21, and was indicted the following month. He has been in custody in Caddo Correctional Center since turning himself in. At that time, a rep for the rapper told TMZ the charges were "completely bogus."

This is not Mystikal's first brush with sexual assault charges. He has previously served six years in prison for sexual battery and extortion, stemming from a 2003 assault on a hairdresser. In 2012, after being released, he was arrested for misdemeanor domestic abuse.

Two other people were indicted along with Mystikal in the most recent incident. Averweone Darnell Holman, 26, faces similar charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. Tenichia Monieck Wafford, 42, is charged with obstruction of justice.
