As he prepares to drop his long-awaited ninth studio album, Revival, Eminem returned to Saturday Night Live this week for his seventh appearance. The Detroit MC served as tonight’s musical guest alongside host Chance the Rapper; so you already know hip-hop fans were tuning in.

Em kicked off things off with a performance of “Walk on Water,” the Beyoncé-assisted lead single from Revival. With Skylar Grey on the piano, Em didn't miss a beat. He also performed "Stan" and "Love the Way You Lie."

Though we haven’t received many details about Eminem’s upcoming album, tonight’s SNL gig suggests the project is right around the corner. Em began teasing the album more than a year ago on social media, but has been very tight-lipped in recent weeks. During a recent interview with Shade 45 hosts DJ Whoo Kid and Lord Sear, Em and his manager Paul Rosenberg jokingly denied knowing anything about Revival.

“There’s no album I’m aware of,” Rosenberg said.

“What album are you referring to, sir?” Em asked.

What we do know is that Rick Ruben produced three to four songs on Revival (which may or may not exist). Dr. Dre also mixed a few records.

While we wait for more information about the project, you can check out Eminem’s SNL performance above.
