DMX Heads to Rehab: 'House Arrest Wasn't Working For Me'

DMX is reportedly in New England at a substance abuse facility.

In 2006, DMX released his Scott Storch-produced single "Lord Give Me A Sign." "I'm a big boy now but I'm still not grown," the emcee known as Dark Man X spit, "and I'm still going through it." With new reports indicating that DMX will be leaving his house arrest situation to check into rehab, it feels like the Lord may have truly given him a sign.

For those who aren't up to speed, DMX had been dealing with a tax evasion case earlier this year when he was placed on house arrest for failing four drug tests. He was eventually given the ability to travel if he wanted to, but the catch was that he had to have a sober coach with him. But it sounds like that situation wasn't working out like the court ordered, so X just decided to take his fate into his own hands.

"House arrest wasn't working for me," DMX said, according to TMZ, "so I made the decision to do something positive and better for myself." TMZ said X is even working on music while in rehab, saying, "My pen is still to the paper and I'm in Beast Mode."

X is said to be working on his issues at a substance abuse facility in New England, and his manager revealed he's "making great progress" while working with recovery coach Joseph Griffin. Hopefully, DMX finally battles his demons and gets back to some semblance of his dynamic run in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
