Festival season is fast approaching and one of Canada's biggest just announced it's 2017 lineup. R&B superstar the Weeknd, British trio Muse and dreampop powerhouse Lorde will be leading the pack of talented artists and performers when Osheaga Music and Arts Festival runs from Aug. 4 to 6 on Parc Jean-Drapeau’s Île Notre-Dame in Montreal.
Festivalgoers will be able to choose from over 100 acts across numerous stages, as the three marquee acts will be joined by a diverse group that includes Major Lazer, Justice, Solange, MGMT, Die Antwoord, Run the Jewels, Broken Social Scene, Sampha, Majid Jordan, Tove Lo, Phantogram, Lil Uzi Vert, De La Soul, Danny Brown and Death From Above 1979. Some of the local acts include Plants and Animals, Snails, Heat and Heartstreets.
In addition to the lineup, the other big news about Osheaga this year is a new location for the festivities. The usual site of Parc Jean-Drapeau’s Île Ste-Hélèneis being renovated, so this year the festival will move across the river to Île Notre-Dame. Organizers have said that the festival will return to the original site in 2019.
Festival passes are on sale now at osheaga.com and start at $320 for a general admission pass.
