Though thereâs no question Migos had a successful 2016, its front man Quavo was able to make some pretty impressive moves on his own. The 25-year-old not only released a handful of solo recordsâsuch as âShine,â âTrapstar,â and âMy Pocketsââhe also landed guest appearances on tracks by Kanye West (âChampionsâ), Gucci Mane (âFloor Seatsâ), Young Thug (âGuqwopâ), and more. In other words, he killed it this year.
To celebrate Quavoâs solo endeavors, Chicagoâs Elz the DJ created an hour-long mix consisting of the rapperâs most memorable features. Itâs aptly titled âFeaturing Quavo.â
â2016 was a big year for the Migos, whose âBad & Boujeeâ looks to be a major comeback hit. But Quavo made as much noise this year solo, stealing the show on a gang of tracks by artists from across the hip-hop world,â Elz the DJ wrote on his Soundcloud page. âMainly focused on his 2016 output, this mix captures Quavoâs best features in 2016, with no Migos tracks included.â
You can listen to the extensive mix below. It includes cuts like Thuggerâs âPick Up the Phone,â Lil Yachtyâs âMinnesota,â Travis Scottâs âOn My Dis Side,â and Blac Youngstaâs âCome Through.â
Earlier this year, Migos announced they would release their sophomore album, Culture, by the end of September; however, it has since been delayed until further notice. Don't give up hope, though: The trio has reassured fans that the project is still on the way, and they were working on its tracklist as of mid-October. Stay tuned as more information about the record comes in.
