Toronto rapper, $heed, has built a reputation for infectious hooks and undeniable energy. While the Weston emcee's repertoire is scarce, what DollaSign Sheed has done is make known his raw potential. Earlier this year, his track "Kawalling", became a Toronto street anthem. Then the rapper dished out two more cuts, "Studio" and the booming "Ferragamo" - which we premiered last month. The steady sequence of releases were just enough to satisfy fans, but the artist was still lacking a full-length project. Now, $heed is answering the call with, Ward 11.
The debut project pays homage to the rapper's Weston roots, and delivers eight absolute heaters. Speaking with Complex CA, $heed reiterated, "This area made me who I am. I am Ward 11". With the project, $heed's knack for melodic trap anthems is elevated to an entirely new level. Armed with production from Opium, ROSEGOLD, and J-Soul maestro, Shyheem, the rapper has delivered one of the strongest street mixtapes of the year. Like $heed himself stated, "I've come a long, long way".
