Trump's Propaganda Tweet Attempts to Disparage Martin Gugino, Who Has Fractured Skull, Can't Walk (UPDATE)

75-year-old Martin Gugino was assaulted by Buffalo police, with video of the assault showing him helpless and bleeding on the ground. He's now in the hospital.

UPDATED 6/16, 5:45 p.m. ET: According to CNN, Martin Gugino has a fractured skull and can't walk.

"I am not at liberty to elaborate at this time other than to confirm that his skull was fractured," his attorney, Kelly Zarcone, told the outlet. "While he is not able to walk yet, we were able to have a short conversation before he became too tired. He is appreciative of all of the concern about him but he is still focused on the issues rather than himself."

Zarcone also passed along the following statement from his client: "I think it's very unnecessary to focus on me. There are plenty of other things to think about besides me."

Martin Gugino, the 75-year-old protester who was seen in unsettling footage being assaulted by Buffalo cops Robert McCabe and Aaron Torgalski, is now being subjected to the bully-minded Twitter tactics of an anthropomorphic chicken nugget that appears to have been over-microwaved to the point of unrecognizability.

Early Tuesday, Trump—in a tweet tagging far-right supposed news outlet One America News Network—said he had viewed the footage and couldn't fathom how Gugino "fell harder than was pushed." Trump, whose aversion to basic human decency is well-documented, also tossed in the arbitrary "ANTIFA" descriptor while publicly conspiracy theory-ing about "a set-up."

In short, fuck that and fuck him. Trump's attempt to disparage Gugino—who remained at a hospital in "serious but stable" condition as of Monday afternoon—was widely met with similar sentiments amid ongoing global protests calling attention to police brutality and systemic racism:

Gugino's friend, Keith Giles, also commented on the nastiness of Trump's tweet.

A few days later, Martin Gugino's lawyer Kelly Zarcone gave an update on his condition and said his brain was injured as result of the incident. "As heartbreaking as it is, his brain is injured and he is well aware of that now," Zarcone said, per WNBC. "He feels encouraged and uplifted by the outpouring of support which he has received from so many people all over the globe. It helps. He is looking forward to healing and determining what his “new normal” might look like."

And in similarly unsurprising but maddening news, a Florida police organization has let everyone know that they will gladly hire the 57 Buffalo officers who resigned from an emergency response team after the suspension of the cops charged with assaulting Martin Gugino.
