10 days after aspiring TikTok creator Jiare Schneider was reported missing by his friends and family, authorities confirmed the 31-year-old's death.
His body was found in a wooded area in Jonesboro, Georgia on Tuesday, Nov. 26, per Fox 5 Atlanta via the Clayton Country Police Department.
"Our officers received a call from friends and family of Jiare Schneider, who’s been missing from Forest Park," said Lt. Ricky Porter, Clayton County Police Department spokesperson. "We did find the vehicle deep in the woodlice, which indicates there was a fast speed approaching the intersection."
His body was recovered in a silver Toyota 4Runner, consistent with a description provided by his family. He borrowed the car from a friend to visit Rumors Night Club in Forest Park, Georgia on Nov. 15 and never returned.
The woods where he was found was 25 minutes from the nightclub, and within yards of a content house his family believes he visited during the night.
"We were searching more toward around that content house he was last seen at. We never got to come this way because it was blocked off by construction," family friend Germequ Bell told Fox 5 Atlanta. "Of course, [we’re] relieved that we found him, but still angry that we didn’t get the resources, the help that we were asking."
The family expressed frustration with the perceived lack of urgency from the police department. His location was eventually found after they tracked Schneider's cellphone data.
Although his body was recovered, family members are concerned the TikToker was a victim of foul play. Police confirmed to Fox 5 Atlanta that they are "investigating the death altogether" and handed over the case to detectives.
Schneider, who went by his handle @Big_Homie_TooTall on TikTok and Instagram, made content about his daily life and aspiring music career.
Schneider is survived by his 5-year-old son.
