Woman Opens Fire in Memphis Burger King Over Long Drive-Thru Wait Times (UPDATE)

Footage shows the suspect leaving her car and approaching the drive-thru where she argued with one of the employees before opening fire through the window.

UPDATED 4/5/21 1:50 p.m. ET: An image of the suspect, a Tennessee woman, has now been released via surveillance footage shared by the Memphis Police Department. The image in question shows the moment the woman began shooting at Burger King employees over what police have said was her frustration with extended delay times in the fast food restaurant’s drive-thru line.

As of Monday afternoon, per a regional Fox report, authorities are still looking for the woman. A reward of $1,000 remains in play for anyone able to offer authorities info that could lead to her identification and arrest. Thankfully, no one is said to have been hurt during the bizarre incident.

Violence erupted at a Memphis Burger King when a woman who was apprarently fed up with a lengthy wait in the drive-thru line took her rage out in gunfire, reports Fox 13 Memphis

As stated by Memphis police, surveillance footage shows the woman leaving her car and approaching the window of the establishment, located on Winchester Road, where she began arguing with one of the employees. Authorities said she then pulled a black handgun from her vehicle and opened fire through the drive-thru window. 

Fortunately, employees were able to escape through a back door and none were injured, according to The Charlotte Observer. Police say that she later returned to her car and left, though a man was reportedly was the driver. Memphis police are currently searching for the currently unidentified suspect and asking anyone with information on the suspect to come forward. 

Crime Stoppers of Memphis and Shelby County Inc. is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 if an arrest is made.
