The Los Angeles Dodgers today acquired minor league IF Jeter Downs, minor league RHP Josiah Gray and RHP Homer Bailey from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for C/IF Kyle Farmer, outfielders Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig, LHP Alex Wood and cash considerations.
Andrew Friedman said that Homer Bailey would be granted his release. A condition of waiving his 10-and-5 rights.

News of the trade has many thinking that the Dodgers will try acquiringΒ free agents like Bryce Harper.

This, of course, clears space and an outfield spot for the #Dodgers to make offer to Bryce Harper.

"Where it leads us from here, I'm not sure," Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said of the massiveΒ  trade, per ESPN. "But I do think we have some flexibility, and we'll figure out what makes the most sense for us as we move forward."Β

Friedman continued: "We are in position right now where we still feel like we have a really good team, but I feel like we want to continue to add to it before we get to spring training [...] What exactly that looks like, I'm not sure yet. But I do think we gained some flexibility, we strengthened our system, and we put us in position to kind of evaluate those things as they come up."

Thanks to all Dodgers’ fans for the love and support, I’m really going to miss you guys and I’ll see you at spring training but this time with different team!!!!! πŸ‘πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜†πŸ€ͺπŸ‘ŠπŸΎπŸ‘ŒπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ™πŸ‘…πŸ‘€ pic.twitter.com/rgNLUBZ4IP
