An Australian man has been convicted of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after a gender reveal ceremony ended with his car in flames.

In a drone video of the incident, the Queensland man's car can been seen spewing clouds of blue smoke as it rolls down the road in a truly impressive display of boganity. The burnout continues until the car bursts into flames, forcing the driver to abandon his vehicle.

Police have stepped in after a gender reveal ceremony took a turn for the worst.

The explosive finale was captured on video, with the daredevil driver slapped with a hefty fine: https://t.co/V7DkwMkN2l @njkelly9 #9News pic.twitter.com/voh5QeTRqy

The footage was shared by Queensland Police, who said the incident took place last year and that the man has since been convicted. Twitter didn't see his conviction as a reason to let up, however, and they dunked on the expectant family.

I love to dust my friends and family with smurf powder and set my car on fire for my children

The "embarrassing gender reveal" genre of videos is surprisingly rich. It includes the Border Agent who started the Sawmill wildfire by shooting a target full of explosives and this man who managed to miss his shot in a basketball gender reveal.
