New Apple AirPods With Wireless Charging Case Have Arrived

The second generation of Apple AirPods has arrived.

In keeping with their recent theme of surprise product launches, Apple announced their second generation of AirPods that, well, look just like the old ones. The tech giants justified the updated versions by making them compatible with a wireless charging case, saying they have improved battery life with a new H1 chip, and also giving them button-free "Hey, Siri" support. The Verge adds that the wireless charger works with standard Qi charging, so you can use it with pretty much any wireless charger.

For those of you ready to part with your money for these, they'll come in two options. The first will be AirPods in a standard case, which will retail for $159. The second will be AirPods paired with the new charging case, which will retail for $199. Also you can also buy the wireless charging case separately for $79 if you want to wirelessly charge without purchasing the new model:

The new AirPods design remains unchanged and is available in white only (sadly it looks like a black option will be reserved for the rumored “Pro” version coming later this year or 2020).

With that new wireless charging case on the just-announced @Apple #AirPods2, you could charge your AirPods on the back of your @Samsung #GalaxyS10. Just saying. pic.twitter.com/9oOi7MOxGr
