TAG Heuer ambassador and professional tennis star Naomi Osaka has unveiled a new limited edition model of the Swiss luxury brand’s Aquaracer watch that places an emphasis on the personal importance of the color green.

“Designing a watch is different to designing clothes because you have a much smaller canvas to work with,” Osaka told Complex of the special piece, officially known as the Aquaracer Professional 300 Naomi Osaka Limited Edition. “Therefore, you need to be more intricate, precise, and thoughtful. Green is just a color that I like to wear and it flashes and clashes; and it’s a nod to my day job.”

The watch is packaged in a black-and-green box that boasts Osaka’s official logo, as well as the logo for TAG Heuer. Included with the packaging is a travel pouch in black, complemented with green over-stitching. This Aquaracer will be limited to just 250 pieces and will be available both online and at in-person shops.

“I wanted to partner with TAG Heuer because they are one of the best and most iconic watch brands in the world,” Osaka said, adding that she had admiration for prior campaigns from the brand featuring fellow tennis star Maria Sharapova.

The dial of the watch features a pale green that forms a wave pattern, while details on the minute-markers carry a different shade of green, as well as an understated nod to the color associated with tennis balls. Hour-markers, meanwhile, are made of diamonds. Elsewhere, green is seen in the two straps that come with the watch package (one made of rubber and one made of fishing nets).

Asked to detail what she next hopes to accomplish in the fashion space, Osaka—who was first announced as a TAG Heuer brand ambassador back in January 2021—pointed to the possibility of exploring interior design. “I met Kelly Wearstler recently who is a big tennis fan, so maybe we’ll work on a project together,” she told Complex.
