UGG has launched its new collab collection with artist Tschabalala Self, who previously partnered with the brand for a Performa 2021 Biennial performance.

“Partnering with UGG felt natural and is an exciting addition to my practice,” Self said of the new collection, which sees selections from the brand’s catalog reimagined by the artist. “It’s a passionate brand with tactile pieces that effortlessly mirror my vision, so this collaboration is very special to me.”

Serving as a key inspiration point for the collection is Self’s play Sounding Board, which was staged for the aforementioned Performa 2021 Biennial in Harlem. The design of the included pieces, in the words of UGG’s Lindsey Dicola Dashoff, featured “unexpected details” being applied to familiar silhouettes.

“As part of our ongoing appreciation of artists and their work, we’re honored to partner with Tschabalala Self,” Dashoff, who serves as the brand’s Senior Director of Brand Communications & Public Relations, said. “Tschabalala adapts iconic UGG silhouettes to her canvas-based mixed media aesthetic, adding beautiful, bold colors and unexpected details to our signature styles.”

The first drop is available starting Tuesday, including via the UGG site and at select UGG stores. A second drop is slated for March 15. Get a closer look below.
