The 50th anniversary of Francis Ford Coppola’s long-revered masterpiece The Godfather has rightfully been celebrated in a variety of ways all year long. Fans would be hard-pressed, however, to find something as befittingly extravagant as what Jacob and Co. has done with its recently unveiled new Opera model.

The watch, first revealed in Sicily last month, is priced at $500,000 and features (among other fan-pleasing design touches) the ability to hear the film’s main theme booming tastefully from an internal music box. In a statement, Jacob and Co. CEO Benjamin Arabov called this project a “dream come true” due to Coppola’s film being one of his personal favorites.

“Jacob introduced my brothers and I to this movie when we were 14, 15, 16 years old,” he said in comments provided to Complex. “To be able to integrate some of those scenes into a watch is just amazing. We’re setting the boundaries very high here, in terms of integrating a movie into a watch. There’s other brands that have done movie watches. But this integration is special.”

For Benjamin, the barrels of this anniversary-celebrating piece are his favorite part.

“They’re so fucking cool,” he explained, adding that the design enables wearers to have the experience of seeing “beautiful hidden messages” from the film.

The Opera Godfather 50th Anniversary is limited to a run of 50 pieces. Get a closer look at the watch, as well as at the accompanying pen and decanter, via the selection of official product shots below.
