Nightmare Calls Upon the "She-Devil" for Their SS19 Capsule

The Toronto house taps into the darkness to deliver a clean collection.

Nightmare are really staying on-brand with their latest collection. The Toronto-based label, founded by Kai Baker and Douglas Tynes, has grown considerably in their very short run. When the duo first opened up shop in 2017, Nightmare churned out streetwear and punk-inspired garb like patched denim, but lately, the tight-knit team of creatives has delved into slick, made-to-order threads including jackets, pants, and headgear.

Last year, Nightmare released a capsule called "Cold Blood", which showcased a stylistic leap full of industrial and military influenced pieces. This time around, Nightmare are exploring a more narrative approach with their new SS19 collection. Entitled "She-Devil", the fresh line tells the tale of a man who "sells his soul to the devil for fame and lust".

Speaking with us over email, Baker explains that the "capsule plays with a cowboy rockstar hybrid through the washed straight leg denim and the slim cropped jacket". You can check out the full lookbook below in all of its glory. If you happen to be in Toronto next month, be sure to check out Nightmare's "She-Devil" show at the Grand Gerrard Theatre on July 12.
