Philadelphia sports fans aren't the most well-behaved bunch. For example, last week, one fan punched a police horse. Tonight, the Eagles host the Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field for the NFC Championship and city officials are already taking precautions to keep the impending celebration/riot at bay around the city.
Dubbed the "Crisco Cops," a group of Philadelphia officials spent their Sunday morning lathering street poles in oil to prevent rabid, blackout drunk fans from climbing them as they pour out of the bars and into the streets after tonight's game.
The visual is as incredibly ridiculous as you would imagine. The guy in the photo above looks sickened at the reality of being forced to rub Crisco all over a pole to stymie a riot. The insanity comes when the Eagles are two wins away from their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
The Vikings are coming to Philadelphia after their miracle win against the New Orleans Saints off Stefon Digg's last-second touchdown catch. A victory tonight would mean they get to be the first team to play a Super Bowl at their home stadium, a feat that would also probably incite fan pandemonium.
