Some combinations just go together perfectly. A burger and fries. Jeans and a t-shirt. Anthony Davis and his unibrow.
The New Orleans Pelicans star forward was well aware of how his name became synonymous with the unique look all the way back in college and trademarked it years ago. “I don’t want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it,” he toldCNBC about his decision. “Me and my family decided to trademark it because it’s very unique.”
In an interview with ESPN around that time, Davis claimed that he wouldn’t consider changing his look regardless of what endorsements come his way. “It changes none whatsoever when I’m in the NBA,” he said. “I’m not going to change who I am. It’s me.” How times have changed. On Wednesday, AD posted a poll on Twitter asking his fans: “Should I shave my brow?”
The tweet has received over 490,000 votes with 51 percent of people in favor of Davis going through with the chop. However, the best reactions came from those individuals who do not want him to break up the dream team.
Even the league's Players Assocation has spoken.
Don't do it, AD.
