UPDATED 1/31, 8:20 p.m. ET:Complex has received legal documents and statements showing Stoudemire’s charges were dismissed on Tuesday by Luis G. Montaldo, Miami-Dade County’s Interim Clerk of Courts.

A Jan. 31 filing says the alleged battery on Dec. 18 has resulted in “no action” after a “diligent examination of the felony, misdemeanor, and non criminal violation files and records” in Montaldo’s office.

“The charges against Ama’re Stoudemire resulting from the December 2022 incident at his home have been dismissed by the State Attorney’s Office,” stated Stoudemire’s legal counsel Alexander Fox. “This is consistent with Mr. Stoudemire’s immediate and public denials of the allegations when they were brought and recognition of his innocence here. After a full investigation, the case was dropped at failing to prove the false accusations. The court’s vindication of Mr. Stoudemire underscores who he is and always has been – a person of faith and integrity dedicated to his family and community.”

Amar’e Stoudemire also gave a statement, writing, “A little over a month ago, my family’s world was turned upside down as I faced allegations that we all knew to be untrue – which I instantly and publicly denied. Today, I’m grateful that after a full investigation, all charges were dismissed. Fortunately, my family and most importantly, my incredible children are all doing well. My faith in the goodness we all possess has never wavered and has never been greater. My love for my family is without limits. I am appreciative of all the respect and support received from family, friends and colleagues. Now that this chapter is closed, I look forward to all the great moments ahead with my family.”

Former NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly punching and slapping his teenage daughter.

According an arrest affidavit obtained by NBC News, Stoudemire entered his daughter’s room and asked her about “giving attitude” to her grandmother when she allegedly called her name and responded by saying, “What?” His unidentified daughter said she wasn’t giving her attitude, but Stoudemire allegedly interpreted her response as “talking back again,” sparking his alleged violent reaction.

Stoudemire allegedly punched her in the jaw, slapped her across the face, and struck her body.

When police arrived at his Miami condo, they allegedly noticed blood stains on her sweater and pants. The police report claims Stoudemire explained to officers that “she had received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar,” but refused to get into further details.

It appears Alexis, mother of the daughter involved in the incident, called 911 after receiving a picture of her crying as blood was streaming down her face. Alexis allegedly arrived at the condo where she showed the photo to authorities and told them that Stoudemire “told her to come pick up the victim because she was being disrespectful.”

Stoudemire has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of domestic violence. He was released from custody after posting a $1,500 bond.

The alleged incident occurred one day after earning a Master of Business Administration at the University of Miami.
