While making an appearance on ESPN’s That’s What She Said with Sarah Spain, new Lakers big man Anthony Davis copped to the fear that plagues much of the nation's nine-and-under crowd. Specifically, he said that he's scared of the dark because too many horror movies as a youngster screwed him up for life. To remedy this, he has a source of light glow over him for protection against boogeymen, boogeywomen, murderers, etc.
“TV on, bathroom light on, some light has to be on (when I go to bed),” said Davis. “I wish I wasn't scared of the dark...I watched too many crazy movies when I was a kid and it messed me up for life.”
If you're a night-light manufacturer looking for a celebrity endorser, well, it really doesn't get any easier.
In less concerning news for Lakers fans, the six-time All-Star also said he's on a mission until he gets himself a ring, which is a more typical thing that an athlete says.
“I don't think I have a failure that I've had yet,” Davis said. “Obviously at the end of my career if I don't win a championship that would be, I would feel that's one of my biggest failures. But right now, I still have a lot to do in this world on and off the court.
“So I don't feel like I've failed in anything. I think I just continue to do it over until I succeed at it.”
