This year's Slam Dunk Contest has become the NBA's equivalent to the Montreal Screwjob. Although more people were involved in the snub, Dwyane Wade received most of the backlash. Aaron Gordon let it be known that he's still not happy about the outcome of February's contest by releasing a diss track aimed directly at Wade.
On Sunday, the Orlando Magic forward released a track titled "9 OUT OF 10" which is reflective of the score Wade gave Gordon after his final dunk. In the lyrics, Gordon denounces Wade's decision and even alludes to the results being pre-determined.
"Saw you in the hallway you said, 'Youngin' put on a show'/Didn’t know that’s the code for you’re about to get rolled," Gordon rapped after claiming that NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, told him he "deserved the gold."
In the video, Gordon raps through his home drinking Wade's Wade Cellars wine. Gordon also revealed that losing the dunk contest cost him a million dollar bonus.
Wade caught wind of Gordon's diss. Yet even though he's no stranger to the booth, the future Hall of Famer responded by giving Gordon some financial advice.
"He should trademark 9/10. Make some money off of it," Wade tweeted. "That’s free advice that I won’t charge him for it. (You know since I costed him a Mill)."
