3-Time Super Bowl Champion Tedy Bruschi Has Stroke at 46

Bruschi spent his entire professional career with the Patriots.

Former New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi has had a stroke.

ESPN's Field Yates shared the news on Twitter, writing, β€œPrayers to @TedyBruschi, one of the most loyal teammates and best people you will ever meet. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Yates also shared a screenshot of a statement from the Bruschi family, which read that Tedy, β€œrecognized his warning signs early: arm weakness, face drooping, and speech difficulties,” and also shared that he is β€œrecovering well.”

Tedy spent his entire professional career with the Patriots, where heΒ won three Super Bowls in 2001, 2003, and 2004. He was also a two-time All-Pro selection in 2003 and 2004.

This has been a difficult week for the NFL. On Wednesday,Β former Giants quarterback Jared Lorenzen died following a battle with kidney and heart issues. β€œJared was a special person,” the Giants wrote in a statement shared on Twitter. β€œHe was an important member of our 2007 team, one that created its own destiny.” Lorenzen was 38 years old.
