Tom Brady and Floyd Mayweather are great friends. At least, that’s what Mayweather would lead you to believe. During an interview with ESPN in the days leading up to his fight with Conor McGregor, Mayweather called Brady a "very, very close friend." He also revealed that Brady texted him prior to the McGregor fight to see how everything was going with him.
It sounds like Brady see things a lot differently, though. On Monday morning, he made his weekly appearance on WEEI’s Kirk & Callahan to talk about everything that’s going on with him and the Patriots. And while Brady spent the majority of the interview talking about the season-ending ACL injury his teammate Julian Edelman suffered during a preseason game over the weekend, he also touched on his friendship, or lack thereof, with Mayweather when he was asked about it. And things got… awkward. Very awkward.

Brady seemed to be trying to do his best to distance himself from Mayweather without taking any shots at him. But if you read between the lines, it's not hard to hear what he was attempting to say.
