Justise Winslow Dunks on Three Hornets Players, Reminds Charlotte Why They Should Have Drafted Him

Justise Winslow Dunks on Three Hornets Players, Reminds Charlotte Why They Should Have Drafted Him

The Heat faced the Hornets in each team's first game of the season on Wednesday, and if this first matchup is any indication, Charlotte may regret the way they handled this summer's draft for quite some time.

The Hornets had the ninth overall pick, and Justise Winslow was still on the board. But Michael Jordan was so hell-bent on getting Frank Kaminsky that he turned down in insane trade offer to get him, one that included a total of six draft picks from the Celtics.

The Heat scooped up Winslow with the very next pick, and at least after one night, they look to have made the much wiser decision.

Winslow was active on both ends of the floor, and finished with five points and seven rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench. Even more telling was his game-high plus/minus number of +26, which is significant in a game that was only decided by 10 points.

Kaminsky, on the other hand? Not so much. He played just six minutes, and finished 0-2 from the field with one rebound. And Winslow's monster slam over three Hornets players, with a fourth in the vicinity, put an exclamation mark on the fact that Charlotte may be kicking themselves while watching these two players for the foreseeable future.
