Former NFL running back Zac Stacy, who previously played for the Rams and the Jets, is facing five new charges in connection with his alleged assault of the mother of his child.

TMZ reports that court records filed this week show Stacy, 30, has been hit with three misdemeanor domestic violence battery charges and two misdemeanor criminal mischief charges. Authorities said this is in connection with a reported assault on Kristin Evans, the mother of his child, that happened on Aug. 16, 2021. Evans said she suffered multiple cuts and bruises as a result of the alleged incident.

“He physically assaulted me several times because he wanted the money back he gave me for our rent,” said Evans in her restraining order application filed in Florida last year. “He punched my legs, slapped me, picked me up by my arms, and threw me into my window, which broke. I had glass in my feet that I removed myself.”

Video of a different assault incident surfaced last year, which showed Zac Stacy hitting Evans at her home in Florida in November 2021. Their 5-month-old son was present at the time of the attack, where the ex-football player seemingly threw Kristin at a TV which then fell on her. He was arrested after the video surfaced online and charged with two felonies, aggravated battery and criminal mischief.

Bodycam footage in which police questioned Stacy showed that he claims Evans “staged” the attack because she was “bitter” over how their relationship ended. He told an officer that “all she’s trying to do is get money out of me.” In response, Evans said she doesn’t “know how you can stage getting your ass beat.”

Stacy is set to go to court over the new charges in March but will not have another hearing for the prior charges—to which he pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, per court docs—until May.

Back in 2013, Zac Stacy was drafted in the fifth round as the 160th overall pick by the St. Louis Rams. He was later traded to the New York Jets, but announced his retirement from the NFL in 2017. He briefly played in the Canadian Football League for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, then the Alliance of American Football with the Memphis Express.
