While Russell Westbrook, who's now on the Houston Rockets, was playingagainst his former team at Chesapeake Energy Arena, Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter to say that he thinks "Westbrook is the best player to have ever put on a Oklahoma City Thunder Jersey."
In about 30 minutes I’m going to give my opinion on @SportsCenter on why Believe that Russell Westbrook is the best player to have ever put on a Oklahoma City Thunder Jersey!!! He is MR. THUNDER!!!
Celtics analyst Marc D'Amico pointed out that "Russ walked right into the door called 'Second Round of the Playoffs' - THREE STRAIGHT TIMES!" Perkins then responded by saying, "KD lost in the second round without Russ when I was there. So what that mean?"
The statements made by Perkins, who played with OKC from 2010-14, didn't exactly sit well with Kevin Durant.
The current Nets player caught wind of it all and replied to Perkins by saying he "averaged a whopping 2 and 3 during that series. U played hard tho champ lol."
Check out their exchange below.
Yea and our starting center @KendrickPerkins averaged a whopping 2 and 3 during that series. U played hard tho champ lol
But that wasn't all. Perkins even brought up Durant leaving OKC for the Warriors.
That’s fine!!! You worked that hard and still had to go join a 73-9 team. Truth be told you don’t even feel like a real Champ, you have hard time sleeping at night huh knowing that you took the coward way out!!!
We talkin hoops not life. There’s a difference.
Haha Nah perk just been shooting his lil shots at me for a minute.
Just yesterday, Durant waded into a Twitter debate about the relevancy of the Brooklyn Nets.
