All eyes are on Kawhi Leonard, the man who helped the Toronto Raptors become NBA Champions for the first time in their history.
According to The Athletic’s Frank Isola, Kawhi, who was born in Los Angeles, has a meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers next week. Isola says that he's "hearing" that the meeting between Kawhi and the Clippers is "tentatively scheduled for July 2nd."
NBA free agency begins this Sunday.
Last week, ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that the Clippers are pretty nervous about their chances of acquiring Kawhi. "Internally, they’re hyperventilating right now," Windhorst said while on Get Up. "I think Kawhi will give the Knicks a look. I think his decision will be staying with the Raptors, likely on a short deal, a one-plus-one deal. Or look at the LA Clippers where he can invest in going forward."
Just yesterday, Yahoo Sport's Chris Haynes cited sources as saying the 27-year-old Kawhi is "seriously considering re-signing with the Raptors."
Guess we'll find out soon enough.
