TMZ reportsFloyd Mayweather's uncle Roger has passed away at the age of 58.

After retiring from the sport of boxing in 1999, Roger started training Floyd the following year where he spent over a decade helping turn Money Mayweather into the legendary boxer that he is today. While the cause of his death is currently unknown, Floyd spoke candidly in a 2015 interview about how his uncle's near two-decade career contributed to his deteriorating physical health.

"My uncle Roger Mayweather has lost a lot of memory from the sport of boxing," he said. "He’s only in his 50s, but it seems like he’s an old man in his 80s."

Roger's accomplishments in the ring include being a two-weight champion, capturing the WBA super-featherweight world title and WBC light-welterweight world title.

The original Black Mamba. Roger Mayweather won belts in two weight divisions. He was no joke at 130, 135, and 140lbs. https://t.co/IHE4JUfepJ

Roger Mayweather is responsible for one of the greatest lines I've ever heard from a boxing cornerman.

In the middle of the Floyd-Gatti beatdown, he turned to the camera and went "I told y'all he's gonna get his ass whooped."

"...on HBO!"
